The VW Beetle is a cult classic that never had a chance to become a valuable collection piece. A cute round eyed headlight smile married to the chirpy rattle of the aircooled boxer made it a popular economy car during its day. Cute and lovable, much like Gizmo from the 1980s classic film Gremlins. Adding water makes matters scarier in much the same way it happened in the movie: cute & cuddly becomes growly and poised to bite you. In this case the growling anger is the addition of a JDM Subaru STi Version 9 EJ207 engine…watercooled.

The power plant looks well researched. The combination appears to be enough for 500hp at the crankshaft. A Tomioka Racing GTX2971 will likely be a touch laggy on a 2.0L even with larger injectors, pump and rails. Controlling this boxer horsepower orgy is an I-Wire harness paired down & mated to a factory ECU. Tuning could be handled with a special order only JDM Cobb Access Port.

This looks like seller wants to hook and cook. Large Fuchs rep wheels wrapped in R888 tires hung from QA1 shocks tell us it’s ready to wheelie.
