Build Your Own Porsche 962, Some Assembly Required (Craigslist-Boulder)

According to ad, this Porsche begins life cribbing Lola chassis bits out of square tubing. I’m not sure how cribbing Lola Can-Am bits makes this into an 80s Porsche Icon.

It looks more like an interpretation of a 917.

It’s both neat and disheartening that this is powered by a Chevrolet 302, presumably a DZ 302 from an OG Z/28. Best not to presume when buying a project.

Stack injection always implies seriousness.

I wonder what work would be required to fit a Porsche flat engine in place of the SBC. Obviously much more work than say, an 8 into 1 header or 180° headers for a more exotic sound.

I spy a dry sump.

Just think, $50,000 and few weeks of elbow grease. You could be driving a Can-Am or IMSA GTP car on public roads!

If you have dreams of emulating Derek Bell and have a budget more than the Miller High Life allows, go get it: https://boulder.craigslist.org/cto/d/boulder-porsche-962-tribute-race-car/7155666921.html
